Another great thing that we here at Stickman are doing is a fundraising event happening next month March 11 to raise money for the Australian Bushfires. Happy Holidays

Hi Everyone!

It’s been awhile since we posted here, but what better time than for the holidays? 47356860_305556140116276_7937425413586812928_n.jpg

We have had a very exciting year at Stickman Painting Studio, and we know that it wouldn’t have been the same without all of you!

As we approach the new year, we want to pause for a moment to say THANK YOU to all our loyal patrons as well as to everyone new who joined us along the way!

To everyone who came out to celebrate the holidays with us, we are grateful that we were able to share our joy and celebration with you. But not only around Christmas are we happy about this; we are always incredibly grateful to share our time with you year round celebrating anything from holidays to birthdays to a night out with loved ones.

Stickman Painting Studio started out like any other company as nothing more than an idea, and we could not be happier that there are so many people out there willing to share this idea with us and cause it to grow in so many ways.

We love coming to work every day to make each person who walks through our door smile and teach them something new while having a great time.

Your smiling faces are what bring us to work everyday and make us love what we do. Spreading joy and laughter with people we care about is not just something we save for special occasions; it’s something that we strive to do every day and in as many ways as we can every time we set up an event and wait for people like you to join us.

There is so much that we are grateful for here at Stickman, but the greatest thing is
YOU!

We would not be here doing what we love without your support.
And with that support we hope we can keep moving forward in doing what we love to bring you more of what you love.

As always, we have events coming up, and we can’t wait to see you in the New Year to continue to celebrate everything we are so blessed to have.

Until then, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
We’ll see you soon ♥

Get to Know the Team: Ashley Hain

It’s been awhile since we’ve posted a blog post, but we’re happy to be back with a new one this week!

Recently, we’ve started introducing our team on here, starting with our awesome CEO Stacey Ball. This week we’re moving on to introducing another member of our team: Ashley Hain who is our Social Media Expert. She answered a few questions so that you can all get to know her a little better.

Screen Shot 2018-12-09 at 6.51.11 PM.png

1. So, what exactly does a Social Media Expert do?

I work with Stacey to find ways to help her business grow and reach new people through our social media platforms that include our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. You also may have guessed that I am the one who writes the blog for Stickman, which I do! I also travel to some events throughout the month and take photos that I share on our various social media platforms.

2. What made you want to become part of Stickman Painting Studio?

I’ve known Stacey for a while now, having worked with her at my day job for about a year. So, when she approached me about joining her team, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. She created a position for me, and I am forever grateful to be a part of this great team!

3. What do you do outside of Stickman Painting Studio?

I work full-time at Starbucks and also work as an independent contractor. I went to school for a conglomeration of writing, editing, and publishing, so I am always looking for new opportunities in my field. I also hope to publish my own novel and collection of poetry at some point in the (hopefully near) future. As well, I’m slowly getting into photography and run my own travel blog + instagram that I update not as frequently as I would like. Photography, traveling, and writing are passions of mine, and I’m glad that Stickman Painting Studio recognizes my talents and allows me to work on things I already love doing.

4. What is your favorite part of working for Stickman Painting Studio?

Stacey is an awesome manager to be working under, but mainly my favorite part is that working for Stickman is just downright fun. There’s always something new and interesting to post about and Stacey always puts on great events. Attending them, writing about them, and promoting them doesn’t even feel like work. It’s a great company to be a part of.

5. Are you an artist or artistic in any way?

Not in the way that Stacey and her team are, but writing and photography are artistic in their own ways. Still, I have been taught by Stacey that anyone can paint! It is true that even if you think you can’t draw a stick man to save your life, you can actually paint much, much more! I’ve painted more than what I thought I was capable of with Stacey as an instructor.

6. What are you looking forward to in the future with Stickman Painting Studio?

I am looking forward to watching Stickman continue to grow as more and more people learn that we’re out here and that signing up for a class with us is just downright fun. I’m excited to learn more and new ways to help Stacey promote her business and more ways that we can reach people to let them know that we’re here and ready to teach you how to paint.

7. What are some of your hobbies?

I enjoy writing and photography as previously mentioned, but I also really enjoy traveling. I’ve been to nearly 40 states and 11 countries, many more than once. I love getting out and experiencing new things. I also love hiking and enjoying nature. There are some really great hiking trails in Wisconsin and I’m happy that it’s getting warmer out again so that I can get back out there. I’ll try just about anything once and am always looking for new adventures.

8. Did you always know you wanted to be working in this line of work?

Not at all. I was a child of many dreams jumping from wanting to be a teacher, to an actress, to a doctor, to a singer…the list was endless. It wasn’t until I was 17 when my life goals really started to become clear. I wanted to be so many things, and I ended up finding a passion that would be able to let me be anything I wanted. I don’t mean this in the literal sense, but choosing the path of being a writer has given me opportunities to explore and experience so many things. I get a little taste of everything without having to choose just one path. There’s always something new around the corner, and I’m excited to see where this continues to take me in life.

9. What do you like most about the Stickman Painting Studio?

I love the team. They’re all so incredibly friendly and have a desire to actually teach people how to paint. I always feel inspired when I work with Stacey, as well as the team, on new projects. There’s constantly something new to learn and experience. The Stickman Painting Studio run awesome classes that are so much fun to attend, and I love seeing people coming out and joining them. There’s always a smile on my face when I’m doing work for Stickman, and I don’t think there’s much more I could ask for out of a company that I’m working for.

10. Why would you recommend Stickman Painting Studio for people looking for something to do on a weeknight or weekend?

There’s never a dull moment, and the Stickman Team will always bring out the best in you. Even if you think that you can’t paint, I can assure you that Stacey and Her Team will make sure that you realize you can. Plus, not only do you get to come and enjoy a night or afternoon of painting, you get to take home your piece to remind yourself that you can do this! It’s always a fun atmosphere, and I honestly cannot recommend Stacey’s studio enough. And, I’m not just saying this. I was a customer before I was an employee and there was always something that kept me coming back for more. I think any person would feel the same way after their first experience. There’s always something new and fun going on to experience here at Stickman, and I want you to be a part of it!

We hope you liked learning more about Ashley. We’ll be back soon with something new to talk about or another Staff Member to introduce.
And as always we encourage you to contact us with any questions or book with us. We always love seeing both new and returning faces at events!

Get to Know the Team: Stacey Ball

Hey everyone! We thought it would be a great idea to use this blog as an opportunity to introduce you to the members of our team. For the next few weeks, some of our new post will feature a different member so that you can get to know us better.
This week we’re starting off with none other than our lovely Manager, Stacey Ball! She’s a great person, a great boss, and a wonderful teacher. Here’s maybe a few things you didn’t know about her.
Screen-Shot-2018-12-28-at-4.50.46-PM
1. Let’s start with an introduction. What do you want your pupils to know about you?
Hey there! I’m Stacey, Owner of Stickman Painting Studio. I’ve been working in the Paint and Sip industry for over five years and have loved every minute of it. I have been creative since I can remember, and I love drawing and painting. I also dabble in writing. My writing is mainly fiction, but I did have a piece of non fiction published in an anthology a few years ago. I love teaching people how to paint and finding the inner artist inside them that they didn’t even know was there. When I’m not working, I’m hanging with my Italian Greyhound Stanley, spending time with my 2 nephews, and trying to socialize, which is hard in the adulting world!
2. What made you want to start Stickman Painting Studio?
I started Stickman the end of March 2018. I had the desire to open my own business a few years back but then decided not to. When the studio I managed up and closed without warning last January, the thought did cross my mind again, and here we are!

3. What is your favorite part of running the Stickman Business?
I’d have to say my favorite part of owning a business has to be seeing how it continues to grow. I have been working really hard and have an amazing team as well that is helping Stickman grow and become a well known studio in the area! I couldn’t do this without my team, and I love working with them and helping them grow in the business as well as in their personal lives.

4. Did you always know you wanted to be a painter? Any significant experiences that led you to this point that you want to share?
I didn’t originally want to be a painter. The Disney Animation Studio, when it was still a working one in Florida was what made me want to be an artist. I did want to be a Disney animator for a very long time, but as I got older, my dream changed to be an artist. My focus in college was drawing. I have a BFA in it, but I took many painting classes. After graduating college, I worked in many school enrichment programs, loving working with kids and teaching in a non traditional manner. I also worked in corporate America as a graphic designer for almost 6 years. I wasn’t in love with that job; it was a blessing in disguise when my position at the company I worked at was eliminated. After that, I still continued to work in school enrichment programs, but I knew it wasn’t what I wanted to do forever. It was a fateful look on craigslist that I found a job with the studio I was at prior to starting Stickman Painting Studio. I’m so happy I found that job, because it has led me to where I am today!

5. What has been one of your favorite experiences with Stickman?
Besides getting to work with some amazing people and teaching those who don’t paint normally how, one of my favorite experiences happened back in October. I was at an event where people could paint pumpkins. A lady who decided to paint one, asked me what company I was with. When I told her Stickman, she said she had heard of us and asked if we were a franchise. At this point we were only in business about six months, and at that point I knew my team and I were doing something right and were moving in the right direction.

6. What advice would you give to a new painter who wants to try this for the first time?
My advice to anyone who wants to try this who doesn’t normally paint is to not be hard on yourself. This experience is supposed to be a fun one while you are also learning. If you are really nervous, take a deep breath. Try not to self sabotage either. Complaining doesn’t help the painting and it keeps you in a negative mindset.

7. What is your favorite event to host?
I love the Happy Landscape Events. They focus around the painter Bob Ross. We have a cardboard cutout of him. We tell the class information on Bob and quote him throughout the event. Everyone can come wearing a Bob shirt or a wig. Some have event brought happy trees to the event.

8. What are you most excited for in Stickman’s near future?
The thing I’m most excited for is to see where Stickman is going. I do have ideas in my head, but I’m excited to see what this experience truly has in store for us.

9. What do you hope people take away from a class at Stickman Painting Studio? (Besides their beautiful new piece of art, of course!)
The most important thing I hope people take away with them is that they learned something while also having fun.

10. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve ever gotten is to not let anyone rain on your parade. Follow your dreams, no matter how crazy they might be. Listening to someone’s negative banter about something you’re passionate about can deter you from your path. You know in your heart where you want to go and that’s all that matters. Someone’s negative advice and disbelief in what you want is a reflection of them and their beliefs and not yours.

We hope you liked learning more about Stacey. Next week we’ll be featuring another one of our awesome team members, so stick around!
And as always we encourage you to contact us with any questions or book with us. We always love seeing both new and returning faces at events.
